A 9-year-old male came to the outpatient department with complaints of defective vision in his left eye (OS) following a firecracker injury. His best corrected visual acuity was 20/80 with normal intraocular pressure in OS. The slit lamp examination revealed cobweb-shaped cataract [Figure 1] and [Figure 2] with iridodialysis in OS. Indirect ophthalmoscopy, ultrasound biomicroscopy, and gonioscopy [Figure 3] were carried out and revealed no significant abnormality. He was planned for elective cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation. Although various studies have reported rosette cataract post-firecracker injury, anterior subcapsular cataract post blunt trauma has never been reported in the literature before, as per our knowledge.[1],[2],[3],[4] | Figure 1: Slit lamp photograph revealing the cobweb or spider net–shaped anterior subcapsular cataract with iridodialysis post-firecracker injury in OS under diffuse illumination
